Nice little community airport. Paved runway. Winds are predominately from the west, often strong. Caution for the wind turbines which are all around the area. There is an automated weather station with webcams for you to review the status of the field before launching, available on the AWWS site.
Plenty of wind in Pincher Creek. Runway is really long (6,600ft) so it can accommodate larger aircraft. Just need to keep an eye out for the wind turbines which are spread throughout the area.
J'ai entirement visit les lieux, ma famille y habite depuis 1980. La piste peut y accueillir des bimoteurs, aucun problme pour tout type de Cessnas monomoteurs, voire plus car la piste fait un peu plus de 6 000 pieds. Un C-130 avec les rtro-racteurs fond, pourrait s'y poser en urgence. Atterrissage vue (VFR), aucun radar, aucun systme ILS. Orientation Est-Ouest, Vents prdominants de l'Ouest, donc des Rocheuses canadiennes. Attention cependant aux rafales!
